Ledger is a French crypto asset security company founded in 2014, headquartered in Paris. The hardware wallets (officially called "signing devices") that Ledger produces are specialized physical chip devices, commonly known as "cold wallets". Their core principle: through Secure Element chips, cryptocurrency private keys are permanently stored in an offline environment — private keys never touch the internet — fundamentally eliminating remote hacker attacks, virus theft, and exchange collapse risks.
Every transaction must be physically confirmed on the Ledger device with button presses. Even if your computer is fully compromised, attackers cannot transfer your assets. This is the fundamental difference between Ledger and all software wallets and exchange custody.

The sole credential controlling all crypto assets. Ledger ensures private keys never leave the device, from generation to use.

Ledger Live is the only official companion app for Ledger signing devices. Through Ledger Live you can view assets, buy, swap, stake, manage NFTs, and update firmware — when used with a Ledger signing device, your private keys always remain securely on the device and never enter the app.
Always download Ledger Live from official channels. Never click search engine ad links — beware of phishing counterfeit apps.
Security Note: The official Ledger Live app is always named "Ledger Live" with developer Ledger SAS. After installation, pair your signing device via Bluetooth or USB and follow the guide to complete initialization.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, USDT, BNB and more mainstream and long-tail on-chain assets can all be securely managed through Ledger.
From purchase to securely managing assets — the full process takes about 15 minutes.
Purchase through official Ledger channels or contact us on this site to ensure you receive a factory-sealed genuine product. Never buy opened devices from second-hand platforms — the recovery phrase of an opened device may have been pre-set, compromising Ledger's first line of defense.
Download the official Ledger Live app on your computer or phone. Supports 5 platforms: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. After installation, pair your Ledger signing device with the app via USB or Bluetooth.
Set a 6–8 digit PIN code on the Ledger device screen, then write down 24 recovery phrase words (mnemonic) on paper and store offline securely. Never photograph, screenshot, or upload to any network.
Add an account for each currency in Ledger Live, and start securely buying, receiving, sending, swapping, and staking crypto assets. Every transaction requires physical button confirmation on your Ledger signing device.

Since its founding in 2014, Ledger has never had a single private key leak. Here are the four pillars of Ledger's security system.
Ledger uses Secure Element chips of the same grade as bank cards and passports. Physically tamper-proof — no external means can directly read the private key stored in the chip.
CC EAL5+ / EAL6+ CertifiedPrivate keys are always stored inside the Ledger signing device and never touch the internet. Even during transaction signing, the operation is completed inside the device; only the signature result is broadcast to the blockchain.
Air-Gap Offline SigningEvery transfer must be physically confirmed by pressing buttons on the Ledger device. Even if your computer is infected or fully compromised, hackers cannot bypass this manual verification step.
Anti-MITM ProtectionLedger's firmware code is open source, allowing security researchers worldwide to audit it at any time. Transparent code is the most reliable foundation of trust — any potential vulnerabilities will be discovered and fixed by the community.
